Hollyoaks has finally revealed the identity of the notorious gangster and killer operating under the name Blue, but the shock unmasking left some fans unimpressed.
Keen viewers of the Channel 4 soap have been sleuthing for weeks and coming up with their own wild theories about who the villain could be.
But it all came to light during Friday’s episode when the soap announced that the mastermind is none other than happy-go-lucky mailman Dave Williams (Dominic Power).
The unlikely character was unmasked as the killer in a scene where he removed his infamous motorcycle helmet for the first time, revealing who was behind it.
Blue first became a major talking point on the show when its signature blue-coated bullets were found at the scene of a shooting.
Hollyoaks has finally revealed the identity of the notorious gangster and killer who operates under the name Blue.
But it all came to light during Friday’s episode when the soap announced that the mastermind is none other than happy-go-lucky mailman Dave Williams (Dominic Power).
Local detective Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) explained that Blue was an infamous criminal who had disappeared seven years ago, but was now back and looking for Jamie Lomas’ character, Warren Fox.
The soap opera villain has already murdered Warren’s mother, Norma Crow (Glynis Barber), and apparently won’t stop until he gets revenge.
A grieving father bent on revenge, Dave’s mortal alter ego returned when his daughter Lizzie died on her wedding day after taking dubious pills supplied by Warren.
In shocking new scenes, Blue tells his accomplice Rex (Jonny Labey): “When Lizzie’s baby died because of me, everything changed. I locked Blue in a box and became Dave, a normal guy with no boundaries who looked forward to game nights with his family.
“When Lizzie left, ‘Blue’ came to take over again and now, out of nowhere, this feisty kid I had taken under my wing when I was working for Frazer Black comes back into my life as an adult. I thought: ‘Blue’ now has someone to help him defeat Warren.”
A flashback montage then played out, showing fans what had happened in the past six months and how Blue is hungry for revenge.
When the killer was revealed, fans took to social media to share their thoughts and many were left disappointed, claiming it was “predictable” and that they wanted someone “iconic” to return for the role.

‘Dave is blue, seriously! Why didn’t we have someone iconic come back for this #Hollyoaks?’
“Meh… I think the problem was that they had dragged this story out so long that people were already destined to guess who Dave was. Plus, fans had already come up with much better theories #Hollyoaks.”
“Well that was disappointing #Hollyoaks.”
‘The reveal was great but Blue’s identity was very predictable lol #hollyoaks’.
“What a total disappointment #Hollyoaks.”
‘I watched Hollyoaks to see who Blue was. What a disappointment after all the hype #hollyoaks.’
‘Thinking ‘blue’ was Brendan and then finding out it was boring old Dave… come on #hollyoaks.’
Now actor Dominic Power, who plays Dave in the soap, has hinted at future murders.
Asked if Dave could be a danger to his loved ones, the actor cryptically replied: “I think that’s the danger of Blue, anyone can get caught in the crossfire, including Cindy…”
“You’ve got to be kidding me? This makes no sense! #Hollyoaks.”
‘I haven’t watched Hollyoaks in months and I’ve been watching it lately to see who Blue is and the reveal was so disappointing #Hollyoaks.’
Now actor Dominic Power, who plays Dave in the soap, has hinted at future murders, suggesting Warren needs to watch his back.
He said: ‘Dave and Warren will be sharing some upcoming scenes together and obviously it’s inevitable that they’ll clash at some point, but working with Jamie and Jen during this period has been incredible and a real honour to work with them.
‘I think you can expect a little rumble in the jungle or in the forest…’
She added: “I mean, at the time he kills his mother, I don’t think there are any boundaries. I don’t think he’s worried about overstepping boundaries.”
“He won’t hold anything back in terms of revenge… He doesn’t want to kill Warren, he wants him to suffer in the cruelest way.”
Speaking about the fan theories he’s seen online, the actor added: ‘I’ve seen some people online say that Dave is too mushy to be Blue and that’s perfect because that’s exactly what we were going for.
“He’s a normal, average guy, a softie. He’s shown he can be short-tempered at times, but he’s never shown he’s that threatening.”
And when asked if Dave could be a danger to his loved ones, the actor cryptically replied: “I think that’s the danger of Blue, anyone can get caught in the crossfire, including Cindy…”
