England captain Harry Kane did not train with the rest of the team on Tuesday morning as he continues to recover from an injury.

Kane limped off Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday but traveled straight to St George’s Park, where he was cleared by England’s medical staff on Monday night.

However, the 31-year-old forward trained indoors on an individualized program as he enters a race to be fit for Thursday night’s Nations League match against Greece at Wembley.

The other 21 players trained under interim coach Lee Carsley are preparing for the double header, with a trip to Finland on Sunday.

Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White and Kobbie Mainoo withdrew from the team on Monday due to injuries they sustained while playing for their clubs over the weekend.

Kane’s absence is a cause for concern for Carsley, who chose not to call up any replacements for the three players who left the squad.

It is the second injury suffered by the England captain in a matter of weeks, after last week he was a doubt to face Aston Villa in the Champions League, before completing 90 minutes.

If Kane misses the Three Lions Nations League match against Greece, Carsley has Dominic Solanke and Ollie Watkins to fall back on.

Solanke has returned to the England set-up after seven years away due to his good start to the season at his new club Tottenham.

The striker has scored three goals for Ange Postecoglou’s side since his £65million move from Bournemouth in the summer.

With Kane missing training, Solanke’s chances of featuring for the first time since his debut in November 2017 have increased. If he is called up to play, it will be the longest gap between England caps since Ian Walker (February 1997-June 2004).

Speaking about Solanke’s inclusion, Carsley said: “Dom is a player who I am fully aware of having worked with him in the past.”

“He was very close to being in the last team, but he got injured just before selection. “He did very well at Bournemouth and now he has adopted that form at Spurs.

“He’s got a lot of really good attributes that I really like, plus he’s a really nice person. He’s got a lot of talent and it’s nice that we have him.”

Eberechi Eze, Harry Maguire, Tino Livramento and Jarrod Bowen were the four absent from Carsley’s final squad.

Meanwhile, there were doubts over Noni Madueke’s fitness after he suffered a foot injury against Nottingham Forest at the weekend. However, he is in good shape and appears in training.
