Those comments have been widely criticized, and on Tuesday former First Lady of California Shriver weighed in.
“As a woman who has leaned into my calling to live a meaningful life inside and outside the home to not only raise good human beings but also uplift our country in various ways, I believe it is degrading for women to imply that their choices outside the wife “And motherhood pales in comparison to that of a housewife,” she wrote in a statement published in X.
