Download the installer and required language packs on an authorized connected device. Record exact app version, operating system and license type.
Read the activation instructions for that license. Record whether an online account, another connected device or a periodic validation is required.
Use a non-sensitive fixture and disconnect the test device through normal network controls. Open the app and perform the required task. Save the output under a new name.
Close the application, reopen the saved output and verify it in another viewer. For video, check both microphone and system audio in the exported file.
Record the duration of the disconnected test. A ten-minute success does not establish that a 30-day or 90-day license validation will succeed.
Reconnect normally and inspect optional cloud features separately. Keep installation, activation, core tasks and cloud dependencies as four recorded answers.

Activation can use a different device

Some vendors document an offline activation exchange in which a connected device obtains a response for an offline computer. That still depends on an online licensing service somewhere. It is different from a completely connection-free activation and may apply only to certain license types. Read the individual-subscription and business-license instructions separately.

A grace period has a time boundary

TechSmith documents initial online activation and a maximum 90-day disconnected period for individual Snagit or Camtasia subscriptions, followed by validation by day 91. That is a documented license condition, not a disconnected test performed by this site. Check the current vendor instructions again before deploying on a computer that cannot reconnect.

Choose the real file path

A browser interface may be connected to a local server or a remote instance. Self-hosting describes who operates the server, not necessarily where the document stays. Record the server location, upload path and enabled integrations. Keep any missing information explicit; a local export alone cannot answer every data-handling question.
