Glen Powell appeared on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast to tell a story about a shocking and disturbing first date.
According to the Hit Man star, a friend of her younger sister was on a first date when the man she met invited her back to his house and proceeded to give her a massage, which ultimately led to the terrifying discovery that it was supposedly about of a serial. murderer and cannibal.
But while many of Powell’s fans reacted with shock upon hearing the story, others wondered if it was simply a tall tale or if Powell might have been the victim of a game of telephone.
‘Do you want to hear a crazy story? My little sister was friends with a girl who was on a date with a boy. They’re hanging out. It’s super charming,” Powell began, pausing so she could “fact-check” the story with his sister.
“They have a big night, and she comes back to his apartment that night and he says, ‘Hey, can I give you a massage?'” Top Gun star Maverick, whose parents trolled him on the Hit Man red carpet, continued.

A friend of his younger sister was supposedly on a date when the man invited her to his house and gave her a massage, which eventually led her to discover that he was a cannibal.
When he returned to his apartment, he began to feel strange vibrations. She says, “Something feels wrong.”
However, she accepted the massage but continued to feel strange vibrations.
“Then start massaging his shoulders,” he said. “Everything feels strange.” She says, “I have to get out of here.” It’s a little weird, he’s like, “No, no. Please don’t leave. I’m sorry.” She leaves.’
The Hit Man star went on to explain that the next day his sister’s friend’s skin started “itching like crazy,” so she went to the doctor.
The doctor ran a test and discovered that the lotion his date had used was black market.
“He does a skin test,” Powell said. “It turns out that it is a black market lotion that decomposes the skin for human consumption.”
Shane gasped in genuine shock as Powell continued, “This man was rubbing lotion on her body to eat her.”
But that was not all. The doctor allegedly urged the women to share the man’s identity and location.
“The doctor told me, ‘You have to give me this person’s address and call the police,'” Powell said. “They go to this guy’s house and he had the bodies of several girls in the house.”
Fans went wild after a clip of the interview was shared on X, formerly Twitter.

The Top Gun: Maverick star said the woman returned to the man’s house and accepted his offer of a massage, but left in a hurry after he started because “something felt wrong.”
The next day, her skin was allegedly “very itchy,” so she went to a doctor, who told her that the lotion used for the massage was a black market substance to “break down the skin for human consumption.”
“This man was rubbing lotion on her body to eat her,” Powell claimed, before saying the doctor made the woman reveal the man’s location.
Powell claimed that police found “the bodies of several girls in the house.” But some skeptical fans wondered if the actor was lying, or if he may have been fooled by an urban legend or mixed up the story with the plot of the 2022 horror comedy Fresh.
“OMG I couldn’t have expected the way that story ended, what do you mean there is a lotion that breaks down bodies for human consumption?” one person wrote.
Others were skeptical, bringing up an old Snopes story and the 2022 movie Fresh, starring Powell’s Twister co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
Fresh follows a woman who goes on a weekend getaway with a man, who she later discovers is a cannibal.
“Now why does this story remind me of this movie…” one fan wrote, sharing a photo of the Fresh movie poster.
