Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer attacked Arsenal defender Ben White following a viral clip of the Gunners’ clash with Brighton.
White, who recently turned down the opportunity to play for England, fell to the ground after a light push from Pervis Estupinan.
Social media footage showed the 26-year-old elbowing Estupinian as he ran past.
When the Ecuadorian left back responded with a push, White collapsed on the grass and held his throat.
Talking about the Rest is football On the podcast, former England star Lineker asked: “Should we mention the Ben White incident?”

Shearer replied: ‘Yes, we should! What a bloody joke.’
This led Lineker to go on to admit that he doesn’t understand White’s reaction, calling it “embarrassing.”
“What I don’t understand, I don’t like and I’ve never liked theater,” he continued.
“I don’t understand it and I don’t understand why players do it, but especially now that you have so many cameras on the pitch and you have VAR anyway that analyzes the incidents.”
‘Don’t you think it’s a bit embarrassing to do that?
“And Ben White is not the only one, by the way, a lot of players do it, but I don’t know why you provoke it.” He just looks at that idiot.
This prompted Shearer to double down on the comments, saying: “Absolutely, it was embarrassing, very embarrassing.”
Last month, the England international informed those responsible for the selection process that he does not want to play for his country.
England manager Gareth Southgate said he does not know why White does not want to be included and confirmed that Arsenal have been informed of their decision to make the news public.
There are now major doubts over White’s international future, although Southgate was at pains to say the door is not closed for the versatile defender.
It remains to be seen whether he will represent his national team again in the future.
