Australia’s exclusive Logie TV Awards were held in Sydney on Sunday, and a host of A-list stars gathered to celebrate their extraordinary television success.
Home and Away couple Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart, Sonia Kruger and Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur were just some of the stars who made an appearance at the star-studded ceremony.
However, there were several notable absences, with people wondering where Today show host Karl Stefanovic, radio stars Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and reality TV host Abbie Chatfield were.
Stefanovic, who turned 50 on August 12, did not attend because he had already made plans to celebrate his birthday in Sydney, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Meanwhile, FBoy Island host Abbie Chatfield, 29, previously revealed she wouldn’t be attending for a surprising reason.
“I’m not going. I don’t want to work for free, too stupid. So stupid! My boyfriend is coming home so I’ll probably have dinner at home,” she said. Yahoo Lifestyle.
Radio stars Kyle Sandilands, 53, and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 49, were also noticeably absent, with the shock presenter revealing on his breakfast show that he simply didn’t feel like going.
“I just can’t be bothered,” she revealed on KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, after pulling out of performing at last year’s ceremony to stay home and look after her young son.
Today show presenter Karl Stefanovic (pictured) was notably absent from this year’s Logie Awards ceremony.
Other stars curiously absent from the exclusive event included three-time Gold Logie winner Daryl Somers and Channel Nine veterans Eddie McGuire, Tracy Grimshaw and Sylvia Jefferies.
Host Sam Pant, 50, mocked Somers’ facetious comments at last year’s ceremony, in which she said nominees could be put up for “auction” for a Logie award.
“Australian television royalty Daryl Somers, who jokingly attempted to auction off the gold statuette among the seven nominees,” Sam began.
“Now, we’re not going to do that again this year… simply because last year it started as a live auction but ended as a silent auction.”
Meanwhile, several Married At First Sight stars were said to be “devastated” at not receiving an invite to the exclusive red carpet event.
Meanwhile, reality TV star Abbie Chatfield (pictured) decided not to attend the ceremony because she did not want to “work for free”.
This year’s extraordinary ceremony saw Channel Seven presenter Larry Emdur take home the coveted Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Australian Television Personality.
Taking to the stage at the Logies ceremony in Sydney, The Morning Show host had the crowd roaring, making light of the number of times his shows have been cancelled over the years and his wide range of questionable presenting work.
Meanwhile, New Zealand actress Rebecca Gibney has won TV Week’s Hall of Fame award in a landmark achievement.
Radio stars Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson also decided not to attend, with Kyle previously revealing he “couldn’t be bothered” to make an appearance.
