An EastEnders star looks completely unrecognizable after landing a role in a hugely popular Netflix series.
Lucy Speed looked a long way from her iconic Walford character Natalie Speed when she appeared in the new series of Heartstopper which launched this week on the streaming platform.
The actress, 48, played Natalie in the BBC One soap, appearing in 526 episodes between 1994 and 2004.
She is also famous for playing DS Stevie Moss in the ITV police drama series The Bill from 2008 to 2010.
Now she plays healthcare worker Susan in the third season of Heartstopper, a series that follows teenagers Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) who discover their unlikely friendship could be something more as they navigate school and love. youth.

Lucy plays a mental health and eating disorders support worker who appears in episode four of the new series.
In a social media post, Lucy shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps of the cast and gushed about her involvement in the series.
She wrote on X: ‘The entire Heartstopper cast is the most divine group of humans.
‘My small part in this beautiful fairy tale was a privilege and the treatment of my beautiful daughter was kind and inclusive. Very on-brand.’
It comes after Heartstopper’s Joe and Kit recently confessed that their seven-hour sex scenes left them both feeling “gutted” and covered in “scabs” on their chins that wouldn’t heal because they had to kiss a lot on set.
During an interview with GQ MagazineJoe, 21, and Kit, 20, talked about filming season three and how they took things to the next level, as well as the horror of watching the show with their parents.
Revealing how long her raunchy scenes took, Kit said: “We filmed the sexy stuff for seven hours, which, you know, is long enough.” We were both devastated. Joe got a huge scab on his chin.

The stars also mentioned that they were ‘kissing so much’ during scenes that the scabs weren’t healing – in fact, they were getting worse.
Joe revealed that he can’t stand watching even the ‘wholesome sex scenes’ with his mother and told her she could watch them alone.
He confessed: ‘I was watching the movie with my mother a few weeks ago and I almost stopped at episode six, because I thought, ‘You can’t watch this with your mother.’ I can’t even do the wholesome sex scenes.’
The actor added: “We went and sat on the couch, but it was really awkward and I was like, ‘Yeah, you know what? You can see this for yourself. You have my Netflix account. You have the pin. See it for yourself.’
It comes after Heartstopper fans were left ‘crying and vomiting’ when Netflix released the trailer for the show’s third season last week.
Netflix viewers couldn’t contain their excitement for the new release when the trailer opened with Charlie Spring, played by Joe, listening to music on the beach.
Nick Nelson, played by Kit, came running and playfully punched him in the face.
The clip then featured a mix of voiceovers from many of the show’s characters.

The trailer then showed a sensitive story about Charlie’s mental health, as he is seen distancing himself from his group of friends and dealing with his eating disorder.

Viewers also got a glimpse of the debut of Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey.
He plays an Instagram-famous author, Jack Maddox.
Viewers were also able to watch for a few seconds the live version of the comic’s emotional shower scene.
This is where Charlie and Nick confess their love for the first time, a moment long awaited by fans.
But this wasn’t what drove fans crazy, as many noted the glaring absence of Olivia Colman, who played Nick’s mother in seasons one and two.
While many fans questioned whether she had been replaced after seeing a beach scene between Nick and a new mother figure, Olivia has not been recast.
The woman on the beach is, in fact, Nick’s aunt, and Olivia confirmed to Forbes earlier this year that she “couldn’t fit in (filming).”
She told the publication: ‘I couldn’t do number three. I couldn’t fit it. I feel really bad about that.’
Netflix confirmed to MailOnline that just because she can’t star in season three doesn’t mean she has been replaced long-term.
The streaming giant told MailOnline: “There is no replacement casting for Olivia Colman in the next season.”
Even though Olivia confirmed she would not be starring in the new season, fans spiraled at the thought of her being replaced as they confessed their excitement for the show.
One wrote: ‘Wait, Olivia Coleman was recast? Is the lady on the beach with Nick his new mom?
