The Coronation Street star candidly told how experiencing hair loss at a young age left him feeling “anxious and very self-conscious” – especially being in the public eye.

She added: ‘I think perceptions about hair loss are changing and it’s something we’re all talking about more.

‘As a younger hair transplant patient, I feel that adding my voice to the conversation is important as I know that many men experience hair loss and the anxieties associated with it earlier than they would normally expect.’

Colson said he felt “very self-conscious” about his hair loss and “worried” about his career.

The actor continued: ‘On a personal level, hair loss can cause anxiety and a lot of insecurity, especially when it happens at such a young age.

‘As I’m also in the public eye, my hairline was something I was particularly concerned about, so I knew I wanted to do something about it – it was just a matter of finding the right person and clinic to do it with.

‘It was actually a recommendation from my fellow actor, Alan Halsall, that led me to Dr. Farjo.

“I had amazing results with them and I couldn’t find fault with the care I received, so I booked a consultation with Dr Farjo and found the whole experience to be first class.”

Alan Halsall, 41, best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the soap, revealed he first underwent a hair transplant in 2016, before opting for a second one in March 2019.

After the procedure, Colson added: ‘I’m delighted with how the surgery went. I felt very well looked after.

“Now it’s time to be patient and see the results. I can’t wait! I’ll share the process with my Instagram followers as I go along.”

The procedure, carried out by one of the UK’s leading hair transplant surgeons, Dr Bessam Farjo, marks another success story for the institute, renowned for its celebrity and VIP clientele including Chris Bisson, Robbie Fowler, George Groves, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Shaun Williamson, to name but a few.

‘Colson first visited the Farjo Hair Institute in November 2023 for a consultation,’ Dr. Farjo recalled.

He first recommended a series of medications to prevent further hair loss and potentially rejuvenate the thinned areas.

The expert explained: “Recognizing the potential for continued hair loss for decades to come, stabilizing Colson’s hair loss was considered the first priority.”

Dr Farjo added: ‘Following the successful results from a hair stabilisation standpoint, we felt Colson was ready for a conservative hair transplant for the bald frontal areas and made an appointment for July of this year.

‘Colson is a young man of 25, and we only proceed with surgery at this age if the candidate is suitable and has a strategy of being aware of what the future may hold.

‘Colson’s case was unique and we will continue to monitor his progress with a personalized hair loss management plan to address any future hair loss.

“The goal is for him to feel happy with himself throughout his life as he ages and his hair loss inevitably progresses. His surgery went very well and we look forward to great results in the coming months.”
