Lucy Beaumont has finally broken her silence on her split from ex-husband Jon Richardson.
The couple, who share a daughter and married in April 2015, announced their separation earlier this year.
They began dating in 2013 after they met through their friend Roisin Conaty and worked together on several shows, including Meet The Richardsons.
But in a joint statement in April, the couple said: “After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.” We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.’
Jon gave £1.625million to Lucy when they ended their nine-year marriage.
Lucy Beaumont has finally broken her silence on her split from ex-husband Jon Richardson.
The couple, who share a daughter and married in April 2015, announced their separation earlier this year.
Comedian Lucy, 41, has spoken for the first time about the split. OK! Magazine: ‘People might think I should talk about it because we were very public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there is animosity.
“We both agreed that while it might be strange for other people not to hear about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything that had to do with the marriage or each other.”
She added of a recent new approach to life now that she’s in her forties: “I don’t really feel any different, just a little bit angrier and not willing to take anything from anyone.”
It comes after Lucy said she sometimes worries she ‘made a mistake’ by marrying Jon as she criticized his stubbornness in an unearthed clip.
A resurfaced video shows Lucy sharing her concerns about her marriage on Jon’s show Ultimate Worrier, where he brings in guests to help him discuss his many worries.
When asked if Lucy had any worries about her ex-husband, she replied: “I have a lot.” Sometimes I worry that I’ve made a mistake.
Lucy went on to describe how Jon can’t admit when he’s wrong or has made a mistake, something she said can be difficult for a marriage.
“One thing I think is really difficult in a marriage is when the other person can’t admit that they’re wrong,” she continued. “I can’t apologize for making a mistake.”

The former couple was joined in the episode by Jonathan Ross, who chimed in to say: “It’s crucial that there’s no way a relationship can survive that.”
“You can’t judge me for that until I make a mistake,” Jon responded, as the audience began to laugh. “It’s not fair.”
To prove her point, Lucy added: “And he honestly thinks I’m the one who’s flawed and that you never make a mistake.” I have an example and it’s actually not a very nice story to tell.’
Lucy began to tell a story about their honeymoon where they rented a car and drove around the United States, while Jon looked at the map and decided to book a hotel in Santa Cruz.
“Then I looked at Santa Cruz and it has the worst homicide rate in the entire United States,” he said. ‘Worse than Los Angeles, like the most dangerous place to be. I told Jon this and he said, “Well, I’ve booked it now.”
“So we went to a falafel bar and sat in the window, looking out to sea and I thought, this is starting to come a little later, things are changing a little, and then you wouldn’t eat any of that.
‘Anyway a gang showed up and one of them got stabbed in the chest, and I looked at Jon and he remained impassive. Like I was looking at two pigeons fighting and I was in shock.’
Lucy added: “I said, ‘Oh, I can’t eat this,’ so Jon ate my falafel too and I said, ‘Don’t you mind?’
“And all because he didn’t want to admit that we are in a dangerous place.”
In another old clip shared recently, Lucy jokingly said she didn’t think her marriage to Jon would last a lifetime, two years before they announced their split.
In a clip unearthed from 8 in 10 Cats Countdown to 2022, Lucy shared her candid view on her marriage, prompting Jon, also 41, to ask: “Are they breaking up?”
In footage from the show, presenter Jimmy Carr asked Lucy: “What made you decide to settle?”
To which the comedian responded: ‘I won’t see this for life, isn’t there a Just Passing Through song? A season, a reason or a whole life.
She added of a recent new approach to life now that she’s in her forties: “I don’t really feel any different, just a little bit angrier and not willing to take anything from anyone.”

‘In your life you meet old souls, new souls, idiots. Before Jon I had never eaten an avocado. We have had a wonderful life together. We have had a daughter.
“Who knows what will happen in the future.”
A stunned Jon asked: ‘Are they breaking up now?’ before putting his head in his hands.
Lucy replied: “We have a lovely daughter so it’s been worth it.”
