“I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that bridged the past and present,” she told Rolling Stone. “I’ve always enjoyed reinventing my songs for different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that show how all music can be timeless.”
In addition to getting help from MGK, the mother of two also teamed up with Sabrina Carpenter on one of the tracks.
She noted that recording this project was “both magical and nostalgic” and recalled some of her “sweetest memories of her career.”
“I laughed, I cried, I reconnected with old friends and met some very special new ones,” she continued. “I hope this anniversary gift is as special for you as it was for me to make it.”

Christina has now signed with 5020 Records, a Latin-influenced label based in Miami, according to Variety.
Neither the singer nor her old or new record labels have spoken publicly about the move, though a rep for 5020 confirmed that Christina has signed with the label.
Fans had been speculating about the label change for the past few months, when the 5020 logo appeared on their website.
Her name has been quietly removed from the Artists page of RCA’s website, officially ending their 26-year collaboration.
Christina was discovered by RCA executive Ron Fair after hearing her demo tape version of Whitney Houston’s Run It to You in 1997.
The million dollars the label invested in Christina paid off when her first single Genie In a Bottle was released in May 1999.
The song spent five consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts and became the second best-selling single of 1999, behind only Cher’s Believe.
Their self-titled album debuted atop the Billboard 200 album charts and ended up being the ninth best-selling album that year.
The album sold more than 10 million copies in its first year and was certified eight times platinum, in addition to winning the Grammy for Best New Artist.
