Dr. Chris Brown’s new series debuted Sunday night.
Dream Home, a makeover reality show, sees the popular vet return to TV amid his $2 million contract with Channel Seven.
While Chris’ natural charm was on full display in the show’s first episode, many viewers couldn’t help but find the premise quite familiar.
Several of those watching the show at home noted that Dream House bears more than a passing resemblance to a similar show, House Rules, which aired on Channel Seven for eight seasons from 2013.
“Dream Home is basically an upgraded version of House Rules… with a hotter host,” one person on X wrote.

Another agreed: “Dream house = renamed house rules,” and someone else chimed in: “Exactly what I think.” Is there any difference?
Others noted that there was “no drama” in the new show.
‘That! Divide rooms without drama? How long will that last? Fingers crossed,’ said another new fan.
Some weren’t too impressed with the renovations, with one posting: “Why would those girls think a teenager would want an ornate ceiling!?”
It comes amid news that Seven has already renewed Dream Home for a second season..

Based on a successful New Zealand format, the reality show will see six couples attempt to convert each other’s homes room by room.
Renovator Lana Taylor, buying agent Simon Cohen and interior designer Rosie Morley join Chris as judges on the debut series.
The show’s producers announced that the contestants will fight for a cash prize of $100,000.
The contestants have a lot of work ahead of them.
Homes include dilapidated suburban weatherboard pads and old, overcrowded brick homes with dated features and tiny backyards.
The renewal series is Brown’s return to primetime following her surprising exit from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year.
Brown made the move after signing a two-year deal with Seven worth more than $1 million a year.
