Channel Seven newsreader Mark Ferguson has put his sprawling country mansion up for sale for a whopping $8.5 million.
Located in the small rural town of Crookwell in the southern tablelands of New South Wales, the property was purchased by Mark and his wife Jayne in 2014 for $1.4 million. Daily Telegraph reported.
The couple have now put the property, known as Hazeldean, on the market with a price guide of around $8.5 million.
The four-bedroom house sits on 1,921 acres that is also a work station for sheep and cattle.
According to the listing, the property has capacity for 3,000 Merino sheep and about 150 cows.
In the ten years that the family has lived in the property, it has undergone extensive renovations.
“The property has been completely renovated and retained for the seller’s use, and the management lives locally and does not require accommodation,” said selling agent Col Medway.
“However, it will pass any inspection for buyers who wish to reside in the property full time.”

He added that the impressive variety would appeal to many different tastes and needs.
“The property is currently under a long-term management contract providing management solutions to both out-of-district grazing businesses seeking geographical diversity and investors seeking a turnkey, hands-off rural investment.”
Oozing rural charm, the property also boasts the best of modern amenities and is set amidst beautiful manicured gardens.
It has a spacious kitchen and living room, as well as a traditional fireplace in the bedroom.

The sale comes after Mark’s future at Channel Seven was decided in September after it was announced he would co-present Sydney’s 7News with Angela Cox.
It was widely speculated that Mark was facing the pit amid an ongoing bloodbath among the network’s staff, but he has made the cut.
‘I’m really looking forward to it. “Ange will add a lot more to the newsletter each night: more experience, more energy and will allow us to be much more versatile when big stories break,” Ferguson said in a statement.

It was previously speculated that Mark was set to be tapped as weekday evening news presenter at Channel Seven amid several high-profile resignations at the embattled network.
Insiders previously suggested the news anchor, 58, could be replaced by the network’s weekend team, Michael Usher and Cox.
The daily telegraph had reported that Seven’s news bosses had become “excited” about the idea of replacing the newsreader with a duo.
Sources claimed the weekend news team has been training since 2021 to take over the weekday evening bulletin.
