An 11-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus while riding a bicycle on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services were called to reports that a bus was travelling on Jingellic Dr, near Karawatha Dr, in Buderim, when it collided with a bicycle, at around 3.45pm on Tuesday.
The boy was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Queensland Police confirmed the boy later died in hospital.
The Forensic Accident Unit is now investigating the accident.
The CDC bus driver, a man in his 60s, was not physically injured and is assisting police with their investigations.

The boy was riding his bike home from school at the time. His bike and backpack can be seen abandoned at the scene.
Another person was also taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The man is known to have been a passenger on the bus.
Witnesses or anyone with relevant vision or information are urged to contact police.
CDC Bus Company has been contacted for comment.
Several emergency response teams responded to the scene.
