Britney Spears defended actress Kate Beckinsale in an Instagram post on Wednesday, after the English actress responded to trolls who criticized her for posting clips of herself dancing to let off steam amid a series of personal tragedies she is dealing with.
Spears, 42, posted a text message defending Beckinsale, 50, who has been dealing with personal issues including the death of her stepfather, her mother’s cancer diagnosis and a six-week hospital stay.
The Grammy-winning singer told her 42.2 million followers: “Have you seen the movie Serendipity with Kate Beckinsale? Well let me tell you… if you haven’t, you definitely should!”
“I love Kate Beckinsale, especially because she’s from London! I noticed how incredibly mean people were talking about her Instagram account saying she needed more age-appropriate content… she’s in her fifties and I thought it was pretty cool how she responded with a mini bow in her hair and literally looked like she was four.”
The Oops!… I Did It Again artist said that “wealth and health” aren’t “solely about” finances, but rather about helping those wise assholes out, just like Kate did.
Britney Spears, 42, defended actress Kate Beckinsale, 50, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, after the English actress responded to trolls who criticized her for posting clips of herself dancing to let off steam amid a series of personal tragedies she is dealing with.
Spears drew a parallel between the criticism she received for her social media posts and the comments Beckinsale received, referring to the “comments” left on her page saying it’s “sad” that she “dances every day” on her Instagram at her age.
Spears said she “taught a dance class last week to a couple of teenagers” and feels it’s important for people to “HELP EACH OTHER” and invite each other to places that help our souls grow.
The Toxic vocalist asked: ‘What are you going to do to help someone and make their dreams come true besides being like me and the Kate haters who say we’re too old or don’t have proper content?
‘Do you think they might be offended by what they see?’
The …Baby One More Time singer said she thinks being vulnerable enough to ask someone for inspiration or help is incredibly beautiful…
‘But ironically, in the world we live in, with how incredibly cruel people can be, you have to be extremely careful who you allow into your circle and your heart!
Spears also addressed recent criticism from Ozzy Osbourne, 75, and his daughter Kelly Osbourne, 39, who criticized her Instagram posts in which she dances, in her The Osbournes Podcast.
Kelly said she felt sorry for the singer while Ozzy said: “You know, it’s sad, very, very sad.”
The Grammy-winning singer told her 42.2 million followers that she supports Beckinsale
Spears encouraged people to be kind and help others, condemning online trolls.
Spears responded: “I’m going to do a photo shoot with Kate and tell the Osbourne family, who are the most boring family known to mankind, to go fuck themselves.”
Earlier this month, Beckinsale took to Instagram to respond to critics who cited her age and appearance in response to a series of social media posts in which she vented about difficult times.
Along with a clip, Beckinsale quoted Kanye West’s 2010 song Runaway and told her critics: “Here’s to the morons. Here’s to the assholes. Here’s to the creeps.”
Beckinsale cited the “stress and grief” she experienced following the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby earlier this year, as well as her mother Judy Loe’s cancer diagnosis and ongoing health issues.
