Beyonce put on a sizzling display as she transformed into a busty Betty Davis for Halloween Thursday.
Davis rose to fame in the mid-1960s and ’70s with his instantly recognizable raspy voice and cemented himself in funk music history.
She was briefly married to jazz icon Miles Davis, his second wife, but the couple separated after just a year. He was 19 years older than her.
The couple met and worked on some music together in 1968, and married around this time, but their professional and personal relationship quickly fizzled out, although she kept his last name.
Betty had a huge impact on Miles, one that lasted long after their romance. She is credited with introducing him to new music such as that of Jimi Hendrix, which catalyzed Davis’ turn to jazz fusion and some of his most iconic words.
Perhaps not as well-known as some of her contemporaries, as Rolling Stone said, after her death, Davis “left behind an underrated but groundbreaking body of work.”
Davis worked as a model in London and recorded music in the early 1970s. She released her first self-titled album in 1973.
Their next two albums, They Say I’m Different and Nasty Gal, were released in 1974 and 1975 respectively.

Only two of Betty’s singles reached the top 100, with If I’m In Luck I Might Get Picked Up peaking at No. 66 and Shut Off the Lights at No. 97, according to Billboard.
She resurfaced in 2017 to contribute to a documentary about her life, Betty Davis: They Say I’m Different, the title a nod to her album of the same name.
Then the following year, the former celebrity opened up about her decision to step back from the spotlight in an interview with the New York Times.
‘When they told me it was over, I just accepted it. And no one else was knocking on my door,” he joked to the newspaper.
