An Australian who attended Corey Worthington’s infamous house party in Melbourne in 2008 has revealed the truth about what it was really like.

Party animal Corey became a global sensation at the age of 16 after hosting an out-of-control party at his parents’ Melbourne home in 2008.

The pair of yellow sunglasses Corey was wearing at the time became his trademark fashion statement and the party made worldwide headlines for the shenanigans that occurred.

However, Australian party animal Matt, 36, revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that the infamous party was actually a huge disappointment.

‘This party, they made it look wild. The truth was that there were teenagers at the front door, admission cost five dollars. “Once you got in, it was like a can of sardines,” he began.

“Everyone everywhere, but the house had a shitty speaker and it was locked.”

The upset caller said the event was falsely advertised as a “house party,” which he claimed was not true because guests were only allowed to socialize off-site.

‘He charged people to enter, and you didn’t even enter the house. “It was in the patio,” he said.

Matt added that the party only accelerated when upset guests decided to create their own entertainment by causing a ruckus in the street, in a move that was quickly stopped by police.

‘It was quite boring. “It only became interesting when it closed and when people were tearing down mailboxes and pushing cars and causing a disturbance,” he said.

Corey came to national attention in 2008 when he hosted a wild party at his parents’ house in suburban Melbourne when he was just 16 years old.

After advertising the event on Myspace, about 500 revelers showed up and the carnage that followed brought police helicopters and the dog squad to the property.

Two days later, a video was uploaded to YouTube of an interview Corey did with A Current Affair about the party and its aftermath.

“Why don’t you take off your glasses so we can see you?” interviewer Leila McKinnon asked about his yellow sunglasses, to which Corey responded that he rarely took them off.

After finding fame with the raucous party in 2008, Corey starred in the eighth season of Big Brother Australia that same year.

In 2018, he returned to reality TV in the second season of Australian Ninja Warrior, debuting his new muscular physique.
