Australian sporting legend David Warner enjoyed a full-circle moment after his daughter Ivy began training with the South East representative cricket team in Sydney this week.

Warner, 37, cut his teeth as a youngster with the best local players in his age group before enjoying a decorated first-class career in the sport.

Now it’s Ivy’s turn, who is also said to be an extremely talented tennis player and soccer star.

She is expected to feature in South Eastern’s inaugural Women’s Academy squad this summer.

On Instagram on Monday, Warner posted a photo of himself as a child wearing the same sports uniform as Ivy and said: “I love it. It makes me smile so much.”

This comes after the explosive batsman signed a two-year contract with the Sydney Thunder earlier this month ahead of the 14th edition of the Big Bash.

“There’s a great group of people there, a great coach… and I’ve always been a part of the Thunder,” Warner said.

‘I really liked the atmosphere last year, the group we had brought a lot of energy.
