Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee will host a regular-season game between the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds on August 2, 2025. MLB announced on Friday.
It will be the first regular season game in National League/American League history to be played in the state of Tennessee.
The MLB Speedway Classic will be the latest MLB event to bring the sport to unique venues after hosting games at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Omaha, Nebraska, Field of Dreams in Iowa, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama since 2016.
Bristol Motor Speedway has a capacity of nearly 150,000 and has hosted two NASCAR Cup Series races a year since 1961.
According to MLB, a baseball diamond will be built along the track and infield. The teams will play in Cincinnati on Thursday, July 31, and Friday, August 1 before heading to Tennessee for Saturday’s game. Sunday will be an off date for both teams and will be used as a potential makeup day in case of inclement weather.

The Braves-Reds game won’t be the first non-racing sporting event to be held at the track. In 2016, a college football game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech was held on the infield. A crowd of 156,990, the largest in NCAA game history, was on hand.
