Delvey, 33 (born Anna Sorokin), is best known for defrauding wealthy New Yorkers and other institutions of more than $275,000 between 2013 and 2017.

She served nearly four years in prison and has returned all funds she stole from several victims, though she took issue with The View’s criticism of her joining DWTS after showing off a bejeweled ankle bracelet.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) granted her permission to appear on DWTS, which Whoopi Goldberg complained about on The View.

During Monday’s episode of The View, host Alyssa Farah Griffin issued an apology on-air during Monday’s episode, and Delvey’s attorney, Duncan Levin, issued a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

During the Sept. 5 broadcast of The View, Goldberg wasn’t the only host to express disappointment with Delvey’s casting.

Sunny Hostin said: ‘I like promotions, but when are there consequences for people’s actions?’

The host Delvey and her lawyer had the most trouble with was Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who said, “She still owes people money. Scammers tend to stay scammers.”

Delvey took to X (formerly Twitter) the next morning, stating: “While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and returned everyone’s money over 3 years ago. I look forward to your on-air correction.”

On Monday, The View hosts revealed that Levin contacted them and Griffin read a corrective statement on camera.

“We recently talked about Anna Delvey, the convicted fraudster, and noted that she will be on Dancing With the Stars and questioned the fairness of her being on the show, as it’s an opportunity that most other convicted criminals and immigrants seeking asylum simply don’t get,” Griffin began.

“After that discussion, we heard from Ms. Delvey’s attorney, who strongly objected to us saying that, quote, ‘She still owes people money,'” Griffin added.

“He claimed that the statement falsely suggests that she has yet to compensate victims of her fraud. And he produced a document from the Office of Victim Services that he says proves that ‘Ms. Delvey’s compensation has been paid in full and that all victims have been compensated in full,’ end quote,” he added.

“We are grateful that The View has corrected its false and defamatory statements about Ms. Delvey,” Levin’s statement began.

“Like so many others, Anna has made mistakes and, more importantly, she has made amends by serving time and paying all her debts in full. Anna deserves a second chance and accepts The View’s apology,” Levin concluded.
