The 20-year-old, who Angelina shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, is “still recovering” following the devastating accident. They added that he was currently feeling “uncomfortable” and would “need further treatment.” He was spotted out and about in Los Angeles on July 11.
Complicating matters was the fact that Pax appears to have hit his head when he collided with the car and was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The source added that he was “very lucky” not to have any more serious injuries.
“It could have been a lot worse because he wasn’t wearing a helmet,” they said.
Although the accident was devastating for her mother, Angelina, she and her brother rallied to support him after the event.
“Angie was in shock and worried when she got the call about the accident,” the source said, adding that her five other children (Maddox, 22; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16) “are supporting Pax as best they can.”
A source previously said People that Angelina’s son had “suffered complex trauma” from the accident and will reportedly need physiotherapy to aid his recovery.
Pax’s medical emergency came amid her ongoing estrangement from her father Brad Pitt.
A source close to the couple exclusively told DailyMail.com on Tuesday that Brad has been left distressed by his family’s “absolute silence” regarding Pax’s condition.
“Don’t expect Pax’s accident to bring the family dynamic back in any way, as Pax is 100 percent on Angie’s side and wants no well-wishes or regrets from Brad,” the source continued.
While Brad was “upset” that his son was hurt and hoped to “help in any way possible,” the source said that prospect “doesn’t seem like something that will ever happen since there is an eternal disconnect and division between all of them.”
“It’s heartbreaking for Brad to have gotten to this point where he can’t even be a concerned father as all he’s getting is complete silence about what’s happening to his son,” they added. “It’s just another distressing circumstance that’s part of Brad’s normal life.”
“He wishes everyone could just be on top of it all because this situation involves people’s lives, but the emotions as they are between Pax, Angie and Brad are so bad that there will never be a time when things are okay,” the source said.
However, another source close to Angelina claimed that Brad had “not made any effort” to try and see Pax since his accident.
“All Angelina wants is peace, but he is determined to continue fighting against her and blaming everyone but himself for the situation he is in now,” they said.
