Joe Lycett surprised his fans on Friday when he revealed the sweet news that he had become a father for the first time.
The comedian, 36, took to Instagram to share that he had welcomed a son with his mystery girlfriend ‘Denise’, and shared an adorable photo with a newborn wearing a little beanie.
Joe is notoriously secretive about his love life and refers to his long-term partner as ‘Denise’, a fake name, because his job means he can’t be in the public eye.
Over the years he has spoken about identifying as pansexual (being attracted to people of all genders or regardless of gender), but previously admitted that he tends to not put enough effort into his love life due to his busy work schedule.
However, in April, during an episode of his award-winning Channel 4 show Late Night Lycett, Joe announced he had a girlfriend.

Talking about the Bimini Bon-Boulash Podcast The Pieces On Tuesday, Joe gave a rare insight into his love life when he opened up about using a fake name for his partner in a bid to keep his identity a secret.
He said: ‘So I’ve got Winston the cat and my partner Denise. And, um, her name isn’t Denise, but I’m not talking about her because she has a job and can’t be in the public eye.
“I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so I live with Denise.”
Speaking previously about his ideal relationship, Joe told Attitude magazine that his perfect partner would be “someone to lie around eating chocolate with.” That’s the dream.

Joe shared: ‘Well, it’s interesting now to be in a long-term relationship with a woman because a lot of people are like, sorry, what? There was a brief period when I was in school where I thought that because I was attracted to men, I was gay, and then I thought, wait, wait, wait.
‘Then I use the term bisexual when someone asks me and I just want to give a quick answer because people understand it.
“But I think the most accurate way to describe me is pansexual, in the sense that I’m not

‘My first encounter with them was years ago when they cared for a friend of mine during surgery, and then more recently when they masterfully welcomed a little boy into the world, who turns out to be my son.
‘The care and compassion he and his mother received were exceptional; from prenatal classes, amazing midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses and continuing care in the community. We also loved their roast potatoes. Birmingham is very lucky to have them and I will always be grateful for everything they have done.
‘I LOVE being a dad, but unfortunately I think this now means I can’t stop being on Rob and Josh’s fucking podcast. We will not accept any press requests regarding this, as we have already sold the rights to the first family photograph to Autotrader.’

The news comes after Joe recently opened up about his sexuality and opened up about his secret girlfriend ‘Denise’.
‘So I have Winston the cat and my partner Denise. And, um, her name isn’t Denise, but I’m not talking about her, because she has a job and can’t be in the public eye.
Joe, who has spoken openly about his sexuality in the past, later spoke to former Ru Paul’s Drag Race star about being pansexual.
Speaking on the Bimini podcast this week, Joe went on to say that he sometimes struggles to explain his sexuality: ‘I also don’t really know how it works because, I don’t know, how does it work? I mean, I don’t know how it works in terms of explaining it to idiots. Because it’s hard to say, well, no, sometimes I’m attracted to men, but not all men. And it usually has nothing to do with the fact that they are men.
‘It’s often like a good torso is enough, you know? The little abs. Yes, that’s all. The lines. The torso is dangerous. A beautiful arm.
‘Yes, it doesn’t matter the gender or whatever. And I don’t know why it is like that, but it is. It’s strange because to me that suggests that sexuality is not just about men and women.
‘So my intellectual side says he’s pansexual, which means everything. So, that’s how I feel about myself.’
Joe is often known for his high-profile stunts, including when he changed his name to Hugo Boss in 2020.
He also blew up £10,000 in a high-profile row with David Beckham, who he criticized for being Qatar’s ambassador during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
