Alexa PeñaVega is trying to silence critics who spoke out about her husband Carlos PeñaVega, 35, refusing to join her band Big Time Rush on Lil Uzi Vert’s new song, The Rush.

The Spy Kids actress, 36, took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain that the song doesn’t align with her family’s values, so Carlos opted out.

‘Hello friends, I wanted to get up here to address something. “We work very hard to protect our values and the things we believe in, especially when it comes to creating content that is primarily family-friendly or what one would consider “safe,” Alexa wrote.

‘Today a song was released that featured the BTR guys except Carlos because it didn’t align with their values.

And he added: “Although I was grateful for the opportunity, Carlos was kind enough to pass away.”

Lil Uzi Vert, 29, released his new album Eternal Atake 2 on Friday, which features Carlos’ band as a featured artist on the song The Rush.

‘Unfortunately it was not properly credited and is currently presented as a BTR feature. It is not a characteristic of Kendall, Logan and James,” Alexa’s statement continued.

Carlos, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson and James Maslow founded Big Time Rush to Nickelodeon television show of the same name, which aired from 2009 to 2013.

“As a wife who has watched Carlos navigate his values alone in an industry that is not designed for ‘family,’ I have at times felt incredibly proud and completely heartbroken for him,” Alexa wrote.

‘This is not belittling anyone. We would respectfully like to inform people who follow us about the mishap and address that this was something he was not a part of. God bless you,’ he concluded.

Lest anyone think her husband doesn’t completely agree with Alexa’s statement, she reshared it on her Instagram Stories.

“I love you my angel,” she wrote via Instagram Story on Friday. “Thank you for always supporting me.”

In the song, Big Time Rush sings “Hey, hey, you’re not Big Time Rush / Dude, you’re not Big Time Rush / We’re Big Time Rush / We’re Big Time Rush.”

Lil Uzi Vert then goes on to sing, ‘I’m cold, I’m high, huh / Your bitch tryna fuck (Yeah)’, among other lyrics.
