A New York father was devastated after realizing his son was the victim of the hit-and-run accident for which he was called to work.
Tyler Beshorner, 29, died after being hit by a car while walking on Route 363 in Binghamton, New York, on February 17.
The accident caused road closures and Tyler’s father, Corey Beshorner, a New York State Department of Transportation employee, was called to come and assist at the scene.
Corey didn’t know he would be walking to the scene of his own son’s murder.

Tyler was reportedly returning from a friend’s party on February 14 when he and his cousin decided to go to downtown Binghamton.
The heartbroken father said: ‘This is one of our worst nightmares. When we were preparing we were saying that someone’s world was going to turn upside down tonight. I didn’t know it was mine or my family’s.

Tyler was reportedly returning from a friend’s party on February 14 when he and his cousin decided to go to downtown Binghamton.
Both men then decided to split up and left with different groups of friends and shortly after, Tyler was murdered.
Mother Shanay Beschorner told the station between sobs: ‘The horrible thing is that he (Cory) works for the DOT, so he was the one who closed the road, not knowing it was our son.’
He also said everyone who saw Tyler minutes before the incident said he was normal and described him as a “happy-go-lucky guy.”
“I don’t want to harbor hate and I don’t want to get angry because that’s not going to change anything or bring him back,” he said.
The Binghamton Police Department said they are still investigating the death of Tyler Beshorner and asked people to come forward with any information they may have.

According to a GoFundMe Created by his friend Brendon Gitchell, Tyler had a seven-year-old son named Jayden.
Gitchell wrote on the crowdfunding page: “Jayden Beshorner, his son was the center of his world and Tyler was the center of his.”
Shanay later said that Jayden was struggling with his father’s death.
‘He’s just struggling. He keeps saying that he is alone. He says, “It’s just me.” And I said, ‘No. You have all of us,” he said.
