Actor Gabriel Olds has been arrested and jailed on suspicion of rape.
The 52-year-old was charged with seven felony counts of sexual assault on July 19 after several women came forward with horrifying stories of consensual dates that turned violent.
The alleged crimes are said to have occurred between 2013 and 2023. KTLA reported.
The women, graduates of Yale University, accused Olds, best known for playing a young Pat Robertson in the Oscar-winning film The Eyes of Tammy Faye, of using his Ivy League status combined with the prestige of being a Hollywood actor to put them in a vulnerable position.
“Each victim reported that Olds tricked them into feeling falsely safe during their initial encounters and then became violent without seeking their consent,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.

A 41-year-old woman was the first to report Olds to police on January 19, 2023, alleging that he raped her at his Los Angeles home.
Two more women later came forward and made similar statements to authorities, saying their assaults occurred in 2013.
According to police, each of them described “consensual dating encounters that resulted in violent sexual assaults.”
Police added that several women reported meeting Olds on dating apps in recent years, leading them to believe there are more victims.
In total, police say they have identified three women who were assaulted by the actor and two more who said they experienced less violent behavior.
Police said the actor’s modus operandi was to lure women on dating apps by boasting about being a Yale graduate.

“We hear the same story over and over again,” said Los Angeles Police Department Detective Brent Hopkins.
“Mr Olds started out as charming, but then he used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak out. Now that he is off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be heard.”
Olds has 74 acting credits in numerous films and television shows dating back to the late 1980s.
He made appearances in episodes of ‘Party of Five’ and ‘The Mentalist’.
