‘I mean, I want one like next door. I wanted it, my dad’s name,” he said, referring to his father, John Thomas Doherty Jr., who died in 2010 at age 66.
While Weiss said, “I have great guys to do those things,” Doherty refused and explained why he couldn’t do it.
‘I just think it’s okay, I don’t need it. It’s also once you get, you know, I can’t get infections, there’s a whole, it’s not like you’re going to get anything out of the tattoo,’ she explained.
Weiss joked that he won’t ‘take you to some street tattoo parlor’ for the ink, although Doherty declined anyway.
He added on the podcast with Weiss, to whom he became engaged in 1995 before splitting in 1998, that he is moving away from “the grind” of life.
“Now I don’t want to do any more routines in my life because one of the beautiful things that cancer has really taught me is to appreciate peace,” she said.
He added that he can “appreciate the fact that even though my life is disrupted to some extent by the cancer and the treatments and all that, it has given me so much knowledge and changed me drastically as a human being.”
Doherty said his cancer diagnosis “transformed me into a person who now appreciates calm.”

“My priority right now is my mom; I know it will be difficult for her if I die before her,” Doherty said.
‘Since it’s going to be so difficult for her, I want other things to be much easier. I don’t want her to have a lot of things to deal with. “I don’t want her to have four storage rooms full of furniture,” she said.
Of the downsizing process, he added: “It feels like you’re giving up something that was very special and important to you.”
“But you know it’s the right thing to do and it will give you a sense of peace and calm.” Because you’re helping the people you leave behind have a cleaner, easier transition.”
