An infamous brothel owner who pushed to legalize sex work and even ran for Adelaide mayor has died.

Stormy Summers reportedly died on Sunday after a short illness at Lyell McEwin Hospital, just three days before her 78th birthday.

“I spent three hours with her on Saturday evening and she seemed on the mend. I’m heartbroken,” he said.
