Australian Idol stunned fans on Monday’s episode when favorites Drea Onamade and Kiani Smith were sent home in a double elimination.
The couple appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday to talk about their shock exit.
Kiani, 17, revealed that her boyfriend, Byron, had a very sweet reaction to her defeat.
The Bribie Island local shared that she called her supportive other half after Monday night’s show, who had plenty of words of wisdom to share.
“I called him last night and for 20 minutes straight he just went off like, ‘this isn’t the end for you, you’ve got so much further to go’… and I just cried,” she told the hosts .

Meanwhile, Drea, 25, shared that the elimination hasn’t hurt her as she already has several projects in the works: “I already have music lined up, music videos ready to come out,” she said.
Kiani revealed that she hasn’t got anything set in stone yet, but revealed that she has loads of songs she’s written that are ready to record.
The young women were beaten in the bottom four by powerhouses Dylan Wright and Denvah Baker-Moller, who produced incredible performances to retain their places.

The incredible Top 8 kicked off the stunning episode with a joyous performance of Rush by Troye Sivan, before Ricki-Lee, 38, performed her latest song On My Own.
Across Australia, 3.3 million votes were cast, placing Dylan, 30, Denvah, 24, Drea, 26, and Kiani, 17, in the bottom four.
Judges Kyle Sandilands, Marcia Hines and Amy Shark were all particularly shocked to see Dylan placed in the bottom four after his stunning performance on Sunday.

But the judges couldn’t save the bottom four now as they all took to the stage again to prove they deserve a place on the show.
Dylan belted out Use Somebody by Kings of Leon as Denvah roused the crowd with his rendition of Hold Back the River by James Bay.
Drea and Kiani failed to follow through with their covers of Can’t Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue and Feeling Good by Nina Simone respectively.
Australian Idol continues on Seven and 7Plus on Sunday evenings at 7pm.
