Air has announced a reunion tour.

The multi-million-selling electronic duo consists of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel and the duo first formed in 1995, but did not release their debut album until 1998.

They became known for hits like Sexy Boy and All I Need, but the French music stars haven’t released anything new in a decade.

But to celebrate the milestone anniversary of their first album Moon Safari, the pair will perform the album in full on a series of dates in the US.

The tour will kick off in the Canadian city of Vancouver on September 19 before moving on to other major cities including Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The Playground Lover singers will continue their tour in Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit before concluding in Austin, Texas on October 30.

A special anniversary edition of Moon Safari will be released on March 15, featuring previously unreleased demos, as well as live sessions and more exclusive materials.

Upon its initial release, Moon Safari sold over two million copies and a run of five albums.

They also composed the soundtracks for The Virgin Suicides in 1990 and Música para Museo in 2014.

Outside of the band, both members have recorded solo material, but the upcoming tour will mark the first time both members will reunite to perform the entirety of their debut album live.

Nicolas recently joked that the album consists of an “incredible amount of little elements” and that he never believed such a tour would happen.

He said Crown: ‘We always thought that we couldn’t perform this album live in a dignified way.

‘It’s very delicate and consists of an incredible number of small elements and many details that could quickly be lost on stage and take away from the charm of the songs.

Air will play a series of dates across the US later this year in honor of their debut album.

“We had guest singers and different arrangements and we didn’t know what to do with them live.”

‘We also promoted the album a lot and got a little tired.

‘It just wasn’t the kind of music we liked anymore and we deliberately headed to completely different shores.

‘But after all these years, we rediscovered the magic of the album and wanted to make it happen.

‘I don’t want to compare myself to classical musicians, but we always had the same approach when we composed
