It may be the third charm for some, but Reese Witherspoon has shut down any talk of marriage with her new boyfriend Oliver Haarmann.

The actress, 48, began dating the 57-year-old businessman, a minority co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders, earlier this year after dating as friends.

But despite “having fun” with her new love interest, the twice-divorced actress sees no reason to say “I do” for the third time.

“At 48, Reese is not planning on having any more children,” a source told DailyMail.com. “She is also incredibly independent and certainly doesn’t need a man to earn her money.”

‘The reason she told Oliver “no” to marriage is because she doesn’t want him to have false expectations and think that this is part of his future. Because it definitely isn’t.

Witherspoon, whose fortune is estimated at $440 million, entered into a relationship with Haarmann after becoming friends following her divorce from Jim Toth, 54.

The couple, who share a 12-year-old son, Tennessee, broke up in March 2023 after 12 years of marriage.

The actress, who currently stars in the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show, was previously married to Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2008. They have daughter Ava, 25, and son Deacon, 21.

Haarmann has reportedly been spending time with her two children and the actress flew between Nashville and New York to see him.

“Reese is doing great and enjoying dating,” a source told People. ‘She’s having fun with Oliver. She often flies between Nashville and New York to see him. He also spends time with his children.

The source added: “Reese loves being a businessman and not interested in Hollywood.”

Rumors of a romance first surfaced in July when the new couple took a helicopter ride to New York City.

The next day they enjoyed a romantic dinner at L’Artusi restaurant in the West Village.

At the time, a source told People that they were just “friends,” as the Legally Blond actress’ “biggest priorities” were her youngest son and her job.

That same month she spoke candidly about her divorce from Toth, stating that she felt “very connected” after announcing their breakup in a joint statement on social media in March.

“Being able to talk to people directly about what’s going on in my life and just share it in the same way that I share great professional or personal experiences,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. ‘It feels much more authentic to be able to say things in my own voice and not let anyone else control what’s happening.

‘Then, of course, there is speculation, but I can’t control that. “All I can do is be more honest and direct and be vulnerable.”
