Linda Evangelista made a rare public appearance with her son Augustin James Evangelista Pinault, who supported her at the 2024 Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards held at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York last Saturday.
The 59-year-old Canadian supermodel, who has 1.5 million followers on Instagram, wrote that it “meant a lot to me” to have a family with her at the ceremony where Erdem designer Erdem Moralıoğlu presented her with the Vanguard Award.
‘(Growing up) in St. Catharines, my family rarely went around the lake until we got to Toronto. This was the big city. So tonight being here with my family is incredibly special,” Linda said on stage, according to Fashion.
‘For me, fashion has always been a place where dreams, aspirations and inspirations flourish. The beauty of fashion is that there is no right or wrong way to create it; Fashion allows each of us to choose not only how we see ourselves but also how we present ourselves to the world.’
Evangelista slipped her statuesque 5-foot-9 frame into a silver-embellished skirt suit by, who else, Erdem and chrome heels.

Steven Meisel’s muse just celebrated her only son’s 18th birthday on October 11 and gushed that her “man” always “brings joy and light.”
Linda kept the identity of Augustin’s father a secret for five years until she sued her billionaire father, Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault, in 2011 for $46,000 a month in child support in Manhattan Family Court.
Nine months later, the 62-year-old Frenchman reached an out-of-court settlement with Evangelista after welcoming his daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault with his second wife, Salma Hayek.
The 58-year-old Mexican also publicly desired to his stepson a happy birthday: ‘Your gentle heart is like a healing caress in our lives because you bring warmth and light to everyone around you. Keep bringing laughter and joy. We love you so much!’
Brand ambassador Donna Karan almost retired from her three-decade modeling career in 2016 after becoming ‘permanently deformed’ and ‘brutally disfigured’ after seven fat-freezing CoolSculpting sessions.
Linda suffered a “very rare but serious side effect” called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, which caused her fatty tissue to thicken and expand rather than dissolve.
Evangelista sued CoolSculpting owner Zeltiq Aesthetics for $50 million in damages for emotional distress and loss of income in 2021, which was established 10 months later.
The breast cancer survivor, who has appeared on more than 700 magazine covers, told Vogue in 1990 that she and her fellow supermodels “don’t wake up with less than $10,000 a day” for a job.
“I had no idea there would be so much attention paid to this,” Linda admitted in her Disney+ docuseries The Super Models last year.
‘I don’t want to be known for that. “I’ve done so much more than just that quote, but it really endures.”
