He said, ‘I can’t tell you how many hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of songs I’ve done in that vein.
‘We’re hoping to transition into that kind of section. I have a lot of songs that I wouldn’t love to release as singles, but that really showcase my artistry in a whole new light, where the lyricism is at a higher level or the storytelling is at a higher level and the song structure is a little bit wilder and more varied, but still quite creative.
“So I definitely want to get all that work out because I feel like it’s a part of my music that people haven’t necessarily seen yet, and I forget that all these songs are literally out there and no one’s heard them.”
One person Wes has said he would like to collaborate on a pop song with is hitmaker Justin, after the pair exchanged numbers at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball a few years ago.
“Someday that collaboration could happen,” Wes said. “I think it will. I’m talking about it to make it happen.”
