She told The Mirror“I had a lot of fears and asked myself a lot of questions: ‘Am I doing the right thing? ’ I was in a state of confusion.”
She added: “The most important thing was the children. It was a very difficult time, but I’m not one of those who believe in staying in a relationship for the children.”
She also confessed that as parents, their goal was to show their children how to be happy and how to love in life.
Rachel said it wasn’t “easy to deal with” but admitted: “It’s not easy to deal with, but that’s life. It’s showing the kids that there’s more to it than getting married and having kids.”

Rachel then went official with skater Brandyn in November 2023 after first being paired together on the ITV show and striking up a friendship in early 2022.
The star previously revealed how falling for Brendyn led to her “messy” split from Alex.

A source said at the time: “Rachel had a great friendship and partnership with Brendyn and it continues to evolve… she didn’t expect to find love again at this stage in her life but feels positive about what’s to come and is hopeful for a fresh start.”
Announcing the news of her divorce, Rachel wrote on Instagram: ‘I just wanted to share with you that after some time and much thought, Alex and I have made the difficult decision to separate.’
‘Even though we are no longer partners in marriage, we will continue to be partners in co-parenting our beautiful girls and continue to have mutual love and respect.’
‘I feel incredibly grateful for the life we built together and will now continue to focus on moving forward together as a family.’
