Country music sensation Lauren Alaina has cancelled three shows following the sudden death of her father JJ Suddeth.
On Wednesday, the 29-year-old singer took to social media to share the heartbreaking news with her 1.2 million followers.
“We lost my dad last night and I really don’t have the words yet,” he wrote in white handwriting on a black background.
“I want to let you all know that I will not be able to perform the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach and Charlotte because I am going home to be with my family,” she said in the post.
She did not elaborate on the details of her father’s death, but ended the note by saying, “Thank you for your prayers and understanding,” and signed off: “Pinky.”

Lauren previously praised her father, who was a technician, for overcoming his alcohol addiction.

“I’m trying to find the words to describe what this day means to me. My dad is celebrating five years of sobriety today,” she said.
The emotional note continued: “Her courage and willpower over the past few years have been very inspiring. She hit rock bottom and came back to the top.”
Addressing her father directly, she wrote: “Dad, you are the best example of what it means to push yourself every day. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have you as a dad. I love you so much. FIVE YEARS. SOBER.”
JJ was the inspiration for her song My Old Man, which she shared at her February 2024 wedding to Cam Arnold.
Lauren’s most recent gesture toward her father on social media was in June, on the occasion of Father’s Day.
Sharing photos from their recent wedding day, she gushed: “Happy Father’s Day to ‘my old man’ with a heart the size of Texas! I love you so much daddy and hope you have the best day fishing ever.”
Alaina had previously teased her upcoming shows in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina, see you this weekend. Ticket link is in my bio!” she wrote before her father’s tragic passing.
