Sources close to Matt are said to be “embarrassed” that he appeared alongside Kieran, who worked as a stripper before meeting former glamour model Katie, the Mail revealed.
A Sky source said: ‘When Matt realised Kieran was on the same show he was quite shocked.
‘Both men have been on set and filmed scenes, but Matt’s team decided it wasn’t possible for him to appear alongside someone like him, so they asked the production staff to edit it out.’
The source added: ‘It’s surprising to think Matt would be on the same show as Kieran, who, as far as anyone knows, hasn’t acted before.
‘It’s a high-quality production that features not only Matt but also Robert Glenister.
‘That’s why Matt’s team couldn’t just sit back and let this continue. They stepped in and called for him to be fired.
“You can’t say it would have been good for Matt’s reputation.”
A source close to Sky production said: ‘Kieran has no role in the show.

Matt was filming the series in the same location as Kieran.
Matt was seen driving a car around the coastal town as part of filming.

The television series tells the story of Bunny Munro, a sex addict who meets women through his job as a street vendor selling beauty products.

Within months, their marriage was on the rocks when Katie accused him of having an affair and said they could only try again if he went to therapy for sex addiction.
But Matt is said to have been so shocked by the hiring of the former stripper that he asked to be cut from the scenes he had filmed.
Sources close to Matt, who played young Prince Philip in The Crown, are said to be “embarrassed” that he appeared alongside Kieran.
Kieran is seen being filmed walking alongside the car driven by Matt, but the star is not on set at the time.
