A Britain’s Got Talent act made a huge TV blunder during Friday’s live semi-final when she revealed a huge secret about Alesha Dixon, leaving her embarrassed.

Magician Trixy pulled out his best bag of tricks for this week’s fifth live show as he bid to secure a place in Sunday’s final.

During his astonishing performance, in which he used Amanda Holden’s mobile phone, he asked Bruno Tonioli what time he woke up and entered the number into the calculator.

He then went to see Alesha to ask for her specific number – how many people she thought were sitting in the Hammersmith Apollo theatre.

But when she asked the judge how he was feeling that night, he let slip that Alesha had pre-recorded her musical performance for the show.

He told the judge: “Alesha, by the way, beautiful performance.”

Alesha laughed awkwardly under her breath before thanking him.

The singer later took the stage to perform her new song, Ransom, in a pre-recorded segment for the show.

Trixy’s comment did not go unnoticed as fans quickly pointed out the error on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One wrote: “The magician revealing Alesha has pre-recorded his performance #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

‘Did we miss Alesha’s performance? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.’…’The magician has just revealed that Alesha’s performance later is a pre-recording’… ‘So Alesha won’t be performing live then.’

By the time Alesha performed her hit mix on stage, the ‘live’ notification box for the show’s broadcast had disappeared from ITV viewers’ screens.

But when she asked the judge how he was feeling that night, he apparently let it slip that Alesha had pre-recorded her exclusive performance for tonight.

Alesha performed as part of a stellar line-up of acts for the semi-finals, which included the cast of the musical Frozen, as well as the cast of The Lion King and new musical & Juliet.

He made his long-awaited return to music with the release of the single Ransom and its accompanying music video.

Its single samples Jamaican reggae artist Ini Kamoze’s track Here Comes The Hotstepper and comes nine years after the release of his last album.

Produced by Supa Dups, the music video was filmed in the cities of Port Antonio and Kingston in Jamaica, where Alesha’s father Melvin is from.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said: “I wanted a show that was very family friendly.” Known and loved by all races, I wanted to merge my business personality with my roots, the music I grew up with and still love and which is a big part of who I am.

‘Being in Jamaica makes you feel at home and has a spiritual calm and a bass line that plays around every corner.’

Alesha is no longer signed to a music label and spoke about the difficulties that brings.

She said Sun: ‘It’s expensive to publish music. I’m an independent artist, so it’s very energetic for me to get back out there. At this point in my life and career, the important thing is what makes me feel good.”
