A woman who was allegedly raped at knifepoint under the Coney Island boardwalk said she feared for her life during the ordeal.

The 46-year-old homeless victim, whose name has not been released, was allegedly attacked by two immigrants on Sunday night, with one of them reportedly holding her boyfriend down while he watched the attack.

“It wasn’t rape, it was attempted murder,” she told the New York Post. “He didn’t try to rape me, he tried to kill me… I kept telling him that God was watching over him.”

This comes as Nicaraguan migrant Daniel Davon-Bonilla, 24, was charged with the brutal assault, while alleged accomplice Leovando Moreno, 37, was also accused of defending herself from her boyfriend with a brick.

Leovando Moreno, a 37-year-old Mexican man, is accused of assaulting the victim’s boyfriend while the attack was taking place.

The alleged attack occurred Sunday night near a popular Coney Island area in New York City, when the victim’s boyfriend, Ray Ramsammy, 34, said he stepped away to get coffee.

When he returned, Ramsammy said he found his partner being savagely attacked at knifepoint, before he was also attacked when he tried to fight them off.

“I tried to push the guy away from her and he tried to stab me,” she told the Post. “I grabbed the pipe with one hand and with the other he was behind me, he hit me with a brick. He hit me in the back.”

Ramsammy said he ran into the street to ask witnesses to call police and that his girlfriend was seriously injured.

“She felt very hurt. I felt a little hurt too. I’m a man and I have feelings. But she felt very hurt,” he said.

Ramsammy said he and the victim had only known each other for a few weeks while living in a homeless camp in Coney Island, and admitted the attack left his girlfriend traumatized.

“She’s in a bad way now. When it started getting dark last night, she was getting paranoid,” he said.

“She sees Hispanic men today and thinks it’s going to happen again. She’s very upset.”

Police arrested Moreno and Davon-Bonilla the same night of the attack, and the victim told the Post that she expects the suspects to “spend a lot of time” behind bars.

“I’m scared he’s going to kill somebody,” she said of Davon-Bonilla, who allegedly raped her while Moreno allegedly held Ramsammy down.

Following her arrest, it was revealed that Danon-Bonilla also faced rape charges in April 2023 and had been released from prison less than two months before Sunday’s rape in Coney Island.

Sources told the Post that in his first known arrest, he allegedly raped and sodomized a 34-year-old woman at a hotel converted into a migrant shelter.

This occurred four months after he reportedly entered the country illegally in Texas, but it is unclear why he was allowed to remain in the United States after that release.

While he now faces charges of first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon,

Meanwhile, Moreno was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon for defending himself against Ramsammy.

The incident occurred on the same day that a Venezuelan migrant accused of leading the attack on NYPD officers in Times Square earlier this year was arrested again for robbery, and weeks after an illegal immigrant suspect was arrested for the rape of a 13-year-old girl in a New York City park.
