Winter won’t be coming anytime soon, but Game Of Thrones certainly returned on Monday night when the UK premiere of the second season of House Of The Dragon launched in London.

The show, a prequel to HBO’s hit adaptation of George RR Martin’s fantasy novels, follows the feud between Alicent and Rhaenyra as they compete over who will eventually rule from the Iron Throne.

But luckily the swords were sheathed as the show’s cast descended on the Odeon Luxe in a packed Leicester Square.

Leading the way were the show’s stars Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy and Ewan Mitchell, and all three dominated the green carpet as proceedings progressed.

The actor, 41, was joined by glamorous co-star Olivia, who swapped the regal gowns worn by Alicent Hightower for an elegant off-the-shoulder evening gown.

With a bold neck chain serving as a prominent focal point, the actress, 30, made sure to claim her share of the spotlight ahead of Monday’s launch.

The first season of House Of The Dragon premiered on August 21, 2022.

The first episode garnered major ratings as it garnered a whopping 10 million viewers, leading to the Season 2 renewal just a week after the premiere episode.

Each of the House of the Dragon season 1 episodes averaged 29 million viewers in the US.

The series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and is based on the novels Fire and Blood by George RR Martin.

The highly anticipated eight-episode second season will debut on Max on June 16.
