The View’s Whoopi Goldberg has unleashed her fury on Democrats after claiming they pushed President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election.

Biden announced that he is finally withdrawing from the presidential race and is instead endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place at the top of the ticket.

The announcement came after weeks of pressure from top Democrats, but Goldberg believes it sent the wrong message to older Americans.

“The message we’ve sent to people over a certain age is horrible. We’ve basically said, ‘Hey, you know what? We think that if you’re over a certain age, you don’t have what it takes to do the job that you’re doing.’ That’s the message we send. It bores me to hear that,” Goldberg began.

“I would have preferred my Democrats not to do this publicly and in plain view,” Goldberg added. “What they did was make us sit there, having to talk about this non-stop.”

Goldberg’s co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump aide and token Republican on the long-running ABC talk show’s panel, publicly defended how the entire process had unfolded, emphasizing that the job of the presidency is “very different than any other job,” but Goldberg fired back.

“Again, it’s about telling people of a certain age, because that’s the message that’s been conveyed: ‘You’re old, you’re running out of steam.’ It really bothered me. Not because I’m so similar, but because I felt it was disrespectful,” she explained.

The Oscar-winning actress then issued a warning to other Democrats who might be considering challenging Harris for the nomination, particularly West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, a former Democrat who now sits as an independent.

Goldberg believes the way Democrats have behaved in recent weeks does not send a good message to older Americans.

“I’m confident that we’re not going to have any problems because this is what everyone said they wanted to happen. Mr. Manchin, don’t even think about that,” Goldberg said.

Manchin has said he considered re-registering as a Democrat to run for the nomination following Biden’s announcement.

“We don’t want you. We don’t want you. We saw what you did. Move on and stay where you are,” Goldberg demanded.

“I started talking like I was the spokesperson for the Democrats. I’m Whoopi’s spokesperson, sit down,” she added.

Later Monday, Manchin said he would not challenge Harris but suggested there should be a more competitive nominating process among Democrats and that the party should hold a “mini-primary.”
