Xander Schauffele has missed out on winning major tournaments several times. Now, he has two in the same season and his wife Maya was by his side at both.
The American claimed his second career major – and of 2024 – by defeating Justin Rose in the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon on Sunday afternoon.
As the 30-year-old walked off the 18th green ready to be crowned golf champion of the year, his wife Maya was waiting to hug him alongside his mom and dad.
She excitedly hugged her husband with tears of pride in her eyes after watching him triumph at Troon.

Who is Maya Lowe?
Maya Lowe graduated from the University of California in 2017.
She then completed a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Management at the University of Maryland.
Golfweek, citing a now-deleted LinkedIn profile, reported that he was working for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.
How long have you been with Schauffele?
Schauffele has been married to his wife, Maya, since 2021, but the couple has known each other for much longer.
Maya met Xander in college in 2014, and the two decided to tie the knot at his Las Vegas home in 2021.

And Maya has been by her husband’s side throughout his career, as she was seen arm in arm with him in Louisville following his PGA Championship victory and was once again waiting to hug him as he walked off the 18th green at Royal Troon on Sunday.
She also traveled with him to the Ryder Cup in Rome last year.
The University of California was also in Valhalla for its victory in the PGA Championship
Maya met Xander in college in 2014 while he was playing golf at SDSU.
She is often seen supporting Schauffele at tournaments, including the Ryder Cup.
Do you have children?
The couple have not had children together, but are the proud parents of two dogs.
They first brought home a French bulldog, Chewie, in 2019, before also welcoming Momo.
Both canines were at their wedding, with Chewie sporting an adorable faux tuxedo and Momo looking adorable with a white ribbon bow.
What are your greatest achievements?
Schauffele’s PGA Championship was his crowning achievement until this weekend’s triumph at Troon, marking the first major win of the golfer’s career.
He came close on several occasions, however, with six top-five finishes at majors, including runners-up at the Masters and British Open respectively.
Schauffele has a total of eight PGA Tour wins, including the Tour Championship in 2017 and the Scottish Open in 2022.
He also won the Ryder Cup with Team USA in 2021 and won an Olympic gold medal in singles play the same year.
