Sarah Marsh has denied allegations that she is the third wheel in her ex-husband Wayne Cooper's marriage to his wife Elizabeth Adams

The estranged ex-wife of fashion designer Wayne Cooper has hit back at his new girlfriend after she called her the third wheel in their marriage, saying he’s never even spoken to her.

Cooper’s new wife Elizabeth Adams, 47, told Daily Mail Australia last week that her husband’s continued ties to his first wife and mother of his two children, Sarah Marsh, had put “immense pressure” on the couple, who have only been married nine months.

“As Princess Diana said, ‘There are three of us in this marriage,’ so we’re a bit crowded,” she explained.

“But despite the uncertainties, my commitment to Wayne is unwavering. Our love for each other is contagious and we are more committed than ever.”

Now his ex-wife has responded by claiming she has had nothing to do with Ms Adams and is not in contact with Cooper.

“I’ve never met her except for one time when I saw her in court,” Marsh said.

“As for him, I haven’t spoken to Wayne in over two years.”

Ms Marsh told Daily Mail Australia that she and her ex-husband are currently in court as they attempt to reach a settlement agreement following their marital split.

“It’s been almost three years, we should reach an agreement by the end of the year,” he said.

“There is much more I want to say, but not until my legal case is finalized,” he added.

Cooper and Marsh’s tumultuous 14-year marriage came to an end in 2022.

The top designer became the target of an AVO carried out on behalf of Ms Marsh, a former model.

She said that in December 2015 Cooper threw clothes into the pool at their Tamarama home during an argument, grabbed her by both arms and pushed her against a glass door.

Cooper was eventually acquitted of two charges of common assault relating to domestic violence at Waverley Local Court in August last year.

Magistrate Emma Manea said she doubted Marsh’s reliability and her allegations that he assaulted her twice in 2015 and 2016.

Cooper remarried in December at his luxurious Myocum estate near Byron Bay in front of his closest family and friends.

He popped the question after dating Adams for eight months, hiding an engagement ring in a bowl of caviar during a romantic dinner at Bondi Icebergs in Sydney’s wealthy east.

“Marrying Wayne was one of the happiest days of my life, we spent every moment together and couldn’t be more in love with each other,” Adams said.

Even though her ex got married shortly after their split, Marsh said she has no intention of finding love again anytime soon.

“After a 30-year relationship, I’m in no hurry to settle down or start a relationship,” she said.

“My priority is to take care of myself and my children.”
