A TikTok user shocked video viewers after claiming to make $21 an hour at Walgreens.
Griffin (@griffinchace) went viral this week after posting a video on the social media platform claiming he earns his hourly wage by “doing nothing.”
The Walgreens worker called it “the easiest job in the world,” but admitted he hated every second of working there.
However, many TikTok users were left stunned and impressed by the alleged salary, with one person thinking it was a “dream job.”
Griffin said he has been working at Walgreens for eight months and works inside the store and not as a pharmacy technician.

He did not specify his job title at Walgreens, but it appeared he was a cashier or customer service associate.

This total salary range would match the pharmacist’s hourly wage, which Walgreens said on its website was between $45.55 and $64.35 per hour.

A Reddit user who claimed to be a Walgreens employee created a post in 2021 after feeling like he was being “underpaid.”
Two commenters who claimed to be pharmacists at Walgreens wrote that they earned at least $45 an hour.
Reddit users who were supposedly shift leaders earned between $15 and $16 despite claiming to have worked at Walgreens stores for more than five years.
“I was hired for $10 an hour and worked there for four years to make $11.34. But new high school students were getting paid $11 as a base,” wrote one Reddit user.
“I left the company in the mid-2000s and was an executive assistant to a store manager in a state where the minimum wage was $7 an hour,” another Reddit user said in a comment.
“When I left, I was making $31 an hour. I came back about seven years ago as an assistant store manager intern at $15, then as an assistant store manager at $18.50. Raises brought me up to $21.”
Glassdoor found that the total salary range for a Walgreens pharmacist as of July 2024 is between $112,000 and $141,000 per year.
A TikTok user who claimed to have worked at two Walgreens stores had only positive things to say about her experience.
“Working at Walgreens was the most relaxing job I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed it. I worked in the cosmetics department,” she wrote.
Others have called their experiences “horrible” and “miserable,” while another backed Griffin’s alleged hourly wage.
“I love it there! A woman who has been with the company for 27 years makes over $30 an hour and gets overtime,” wrote one TikTok user.
At least three commenters who claimed to work in the medical field admitted that they allegedly earn much less than Griffin.
One TikTok user wrote: “I’ve been working as an administrative assistant at a busy hospital for almost 17 years and I make $21. I think I’d rather work at Walgreens.”
