Fearing political blowback from the TikTok ban, Donald Trump blames President Biden for any restrictions that may arise from the foreign aid package passed by the House over the weekend.
‘Just so everyone knows, especially young people, corrupt Joe Biden is responsible for banning TikTok. He’s the one pushing to shut it down, and he’s doing it to help his Facebook friends become richer and more dominant, and able to continue fighting, perhaps illegally, against the Republican Party. It’s called ELECTORAL INTERFERENCE! The former president spoke on Truth Social on Monday.
As part of a $95 billion package with aid for Israel and Ukraine, the House passed a bill requiring Chinese company ByteDance to divest TikTok within a year or face a ban in the US.
The package was voted on as four separate bills, but will be sent to the Senate as a single piece of legislation for an up-or-down vote, expected in the coming days.

Only 25 Republicans voted against the so-called ‘sidecar’ bill that included a number of priorities, including legislation to restrict TikTok, seize frozen Russian assets and require Ukraine to return any US military equipment that is not destroyed in the war.
‘Young people, and many others, must remember this on November 5, ELECTION DAY, when they vote! You must also remember, most importantly, that he is destroying our country and is A GREAT THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!’ Trump added.
Trump has claimed for months that TikTok is “less of a danger” to the United States than Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
A TikTok spokesperson told DailyMail.com that the bill amounts to an “outright ban” on TikTok, suggesting ByteDance is not in the mood to sell.
“It is unfortunate that the House of Representatives is using the cover of important foreign and humanitarian aid to once again stymie a ban bill that would trample the free speech rights of 170 million Americans, devastate 7 million businesses, and shutter a platform that contributes $24 billion to the US economy annually,” a TikTok spokesperson told DailyMail.com on Saturday.

Opposition to the TikTok legislation has united an odd cross-section of Democrats and Republicans. On the right, the opposition was led by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, and Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.
On the other side of the aisle, ‘Squad’ members Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., also voted against the measure.
“I think it’s a terrible idea and it’s hysteria running through both sides now.” Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, told DailyMail.com.
‘In America, we don’t tell people that you can’t own a business because we don’t like you. And 150 million people use their First Amendment freedom to express themselves on TikTok, and you can’t just take that away from them.”
Massie, his Republican colleague from Kentucky, agreed.
‘The so-called TikTok ban is a Trojan horse. “The president will have the power to ban websites, not just apps,” he posted on X.
