Former President Donald Trump called President Joe Biden “pretty pathetic” and claimed Iran would not attack Israel if he remained in office.
Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee, held a news conference Friday night after meeting at Mar-a-Lago with embattled GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson and posited that Biden could lead the country into a “world war.”
A journalist asked the former president about US warnings that Iran was about to attack Israel and whether he had been in contact with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump wouldn’t have revealed it if he had spoken to Bibi, adding: “But if the president of our country had actually issued a warning saying that he thinks we’re going to be attacked or that they’re going to be attacked.” That’s pretty pathetic.
“They wouldn’t be attacking Israel if I were president, I can tell you that,” he continued. “And they never did.”

Protesters in Tehran burn an Israeli flag after members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in a suspected Israeli attack. That led the US to warn of a possible Iranian attack on Israel.
‘They wouldn’t be attacking. Iran was not in a position to attack. They did not have money. “They were broke,” Trump added.
He claimed that Iran had amassed $221 billion – a figure the former president has used before but the source is unclear – to create problems in the Middle East along with Iraq.
‘With everything we have done, with all the fighting, all the deaths, look what happened. “How incompetent this whole thing is,” Trump continued. “I don’t want to say who I spoke to, but I think it’s a very, very dangerous period.”
“This is a very dangerous period in our nation and a big reason it’s dangerous is because we have a president who is grossly incompetent,” Trump added.
Earlier in his appearance at Mar-a-Lago, Trump spoke about how he thought the world’s problems could get out of control.
“We could end up in a world war between Russia and Ukraine and all the chaos and that is something that should never have happened, that would never have happened.” “What’s happening with Israel, on October 7th and what’s happening with Israel could end in a world war,” Trump said.
He went after Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, saying, “we have a president who can’t put two sentences together.”
‘We have a president who can’t find the stairs to get off the stage. We have a president who doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing. And we could end up in a world war,” Trump said.
“You know, we have a little less than seven months left, months before November 5, but that’s an eternity when people are incompetent,” the former president added.
For months he has mocked that Biden could provoke World War III.
However, a poll released Friday showed that one of Trump’s weakest attributes was his handling of foreign policy.
Forty-seven percent of Americans surveyed in an AP-NORC poll said Trump hurt U.S. foreign relations.
Israel is preparing for an Iranian attack after an April 1 attack on a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, killed members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem sent a warning Thursday to diplomats in Israel that did not specifically mention Iran but prohibited them from traveling.
Biden said Wednesday in the Rose Garden with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida that Iran was “threatening to launch a significant attack against Israel.”
‘As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again: battleship. “We are going to do everything we can to protect Israel’s security,” Biden said.
On Friday, Biden reiterated that Iran should not attack Israel.
“Don’t do it,” he said.
