Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce experienced two types of football in one day on Saturday.

After participating in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Kelce and his quarterback Patrick Mahomes showered and went to a Kansas City Current women’s football game.

The Currents were facing Atletico Madrid’s women’s team in the Women’s Cup final and the Chiefs stars were there to support the home team.

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, is a co-owner of the team and the trio watched the game from a suite.

Corrientes ended up winning the match 1-0 thanks to the boots of Brazilian star Debinha.

Mahomes and Kelce watched after playing a preseason football game earlier in the day.

The quarterback completed eight of 14 passes on the day for 93 yards and showed some stellar stuff.

That included his only completed pass to Kelce: an impromptu behind-the-back pass that the tight end recognized, caught and ran through for an eight-yard gain.

While it may have looked like something straight out of training camp, it turns out Mahomes didn’t set up that play at all.

“Travis didn’t run the route he was supposed to run. I was mad, I was furious with Travis,” Mahomes explained.

‘Out of spite, I made a behind-the-back pass. But now it’s going to be a highlight!’

In an act of fairness, Kelce was given the right to respond, and he responded by doing a hilarious Kermit the Frog-style imitation of Mahomes.

“It wasn’t a play? No, it was a play… it was a first down,” Kelce responded during his live television interview when asked about the viral moment, before explaining why he may have misheard his quarterback.

Earlier in the day, Kelce caught this incredible behind-the-back pass from Mahomes in a game.

“You know he has that voice thing, so he mumbles,” he joked, producing a hilarious noise that sounded eerily like something out of The Muppets.

‘So he mumbled the play and I couldn’t hear him, I was walking towards the line trying to figure out what he was saying, and before I knew it he threw the ball.’

The Chiefs ended up losing the game to Detroit 24-23, falling at home in their second preseason game.

They will have one last chance to get something out of their preseason with a game on August 22 against the Chicago Bears.

Then, there will be a quick turnaround to the regular season with a Thursday night matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5.
