President Joe Biden’s political career is still in the balance after his crucial press conference at NATO on Thursday night.

The 81-year-old confused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin and called Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump” on a night when he sought to silence calls for him to drop out of the presidential race.

Prominent Democrat and longtime Biden ally Rep. Jim Clyburn blamed Joe’s stutter for the gaffes, insisting he “has one of the best minds I’ve ever been around.”

A new poll released Friday also revealed where the race between Donald Trump and Biden stands after the disastrous performance in the debate.

Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn blames Biden’s stutter for his gaffe, says he has one of the “best minds”

Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn has blamed Joe Biden’s stutter for his excruciating gaffes and insists he has one of the “best minds I’ve ever been around.”

The South Carolina lawmaker rushed to the 81-year-old’s defense after he introduced Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin” and called Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump.”

Well, those of us who follow Joe Biden closely know that sometimes he stumbles with words and phrases, but all of that is almost natural for people who grew up stuttering and who concentrate a little more. When you concentrate a little more, you tend to lose the thread.

The host then asked if what he had seen from the president over the past three weeks was simply “a consequence of his stutter.”

He doesn’t stutter now. He’s still working on overcoming his childhood stutter. I’ve been around that condition for a long time and I know exactly how it works. But he has one of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever been around. And people who have been around him can tell you that. So I hope we focus on the essence of this man, rather than on these sometimes mispronounced words and phrases, and how he has led this country.

Clyburn then said it was up to Biden to decide whether to stay in the race and said Democratic critics calling for him to drop out should focus on his administration’s “track record.”

Clyburn later admitted that Biden is not the same person he was two years ago.

Obama and Nancy Pelosi admit it’s ‘difficult’ for Biden to beat Trump in crisis negotiations

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama held emergency talks on what to do with Joe Biden at the head of the Democratic ticket, and failed to reach a consensus.

Neither is sure what to do, but they agree that it has become much harder for Democrats to win in November since Biden’s disastrous debate performance, according to CNN.

Democrats are “begging” Obama or Pelosi to help calm the infighting. Biden has these two powerful politicians in his power, more so than Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer or House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Biden makes mistakes, rambles and blunders in a ‘big guy’ press conference aided by a teleprompter and a journalist cheat sheet that leaves him fighting for his political life

This is what a “big man” press conference looks like: two teleprompt screens, a list of vetted journalists and press aides with microphones, ready to silence tough questions.

The White House had used the term, used for the first time by a journalist, to mean that President Joe Biden would offer a no-holds-barred demonstration of his ability to dodge tough questions.

Yet even with screen railings, protesting aides and an opening statement, Biden struggled at times with a raspy throat, flubbed lines and erratic responses.

Asked if Kamala Harris could beat Donald Trump if she were to top the ticket, she gave a blunt answer.

“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump as vice president if I didn’t think she was unqualified to be vice president,” he said, setting off a flood of Republican memes, with mashups of Harris and Trump quickly appearing online.

President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate has had little impact on his standing in the race against Donald Trump despite a mountain of calls for him to drop out, a new poll suggests.

He PBS News/NPR/Marist Poll Data released Friday shows that 50 percent of Americans would vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 48 percent would back Trump.

However, most believe Trump will win the election in November and more than half of registered voters do not want any of the candidates on their party’s ticket.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans say Biden lacks the mental fitness to serve as president, while about half question Trump’s wit.
