Earlier this month, he was spotted filming a death-defying aerial sequence for the currently untitled eighth Mission: Impossible film.
The film reunites the actor, who plays spy Ethan Hunt, with his longtime collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the last four M:I films.
He will also reunite with his longtime co-stars Ving Rhames, who has starred alongside Cruise in all of the M:I films as Luther Stickell, and Simon Pegg, whose role as Benji Dunn debuted in 2006’s Mission: Impossible III.
Also returning are Henry Czerny (Eugene Kittridge), Vanessa Kirby (The White Widow), Pom Klementieff (Paris), Hayley Atwell (Grace), Shea Whigham (Jasper Briggs), Esai Morales (Gabriel) and Frederick Schmidt (Zola Mitsopolis).

Cruise will also reunite with his Edge of Tomorrow and American Made director Doug Liman for what would be a historic project, in collaboration with Space X.
The untitled film, which Cruise and Liman wrote with McQuarrie, would be the first in Hollywood history to be filmed in outer space.
He also had a long-awaited sequel to Edge of Tomorrow in development, though there’s no indication of when that might happen.
The actor also has another McQuarrie film, The Gauntlet, in pre-production, starring alongside Scarlett Johansson.
