The Voice Australia aired its gripping grand finale on Sunday night, with Reuben De Melo crowned winner of the popular singing competition.
Reuben, who was on superstar LeAnn Rimes’ team, couldn’t contain his surprise after host Sonia Kruger, 59, told him he had won a recording contract and $100,000 in prizes.
“I never thought I would go this far, this is crazy,” he exclaimed.
Elsewhere, Rimes was quick to share kind words for the father of three following his triumphant victory.
“I’m so proud,” the Can’t Fight The Moonlight singer began.
‘You deserve every bit of this moment and I feel so honored to be on this journey with you.
“You are amazing,” he concluded.
Reuben competed in the grand final alongside Annie Jones from Team Adam, Jaedyn Randell from Team Kate, and SKŸE from Team Guy.

In addition to the coveted title, Reuben won $100,000 in prize money, plus a Money Can’t Buy Music Masterclass and an industry recording development package.
In a stunning final solo performance of The Animals’ House Of The Rising Sun, Rueben left the four coaches in awe, with singer Kate-Miller Heidke praising him as “exceptional”.
‘I can’t stop smiling. You just gave it your all. That was crazy,” added Rimes, who also joined Reuben on stage for a heartfelt duet of Coldplay’s Fix You.

Reuben wowed Australian audiences (and the show’s judges Adam Lambert, Guy Sebastian, Heidke and Rimes) with his first blind audition.
Eager to have him on her team, LeAnn used her Ultimate Block to guarantee that he would be on her team.
“I knew as soon as he opened his mouth and I heard him sing,” she said at the time.
‘There was so much feeling there. There was no way I was going to let the other coaches get to him before me.”
