Whoopi confessed that age “doesn’t concern her” when embarking on a relationship, before shyly revealing her love story with an age difference of several decades.
“12 (years) isn’t that bad,” Sara Haines, 46, said during the Hot Topics segment, in response to the real-life age difference between Anne, 41, and Nicholas, 29.

“I dated a guy who was 18 years older than me,” she continued. “11 seems more acceptable to my parents.”
Joy Behar, 81, who married her long-time partner Steve Janowitz in 2011 after nearly 30 years of dating, stated that she “likes them younger,” noting that her husband is seven years younger than her.
“(Steve) drives at night, he does the heavy lifting, he’s very smart; when I’m old and decrepit, he’ll carry me,” said the veteran panelist. “I don’t want them old.”
After pointing out that Sara and Sunny Hostin, 55, were also married to younger men, the question was posed to Whoopi; who admitted that she has dated men both younger and older.
“I go from here to here,” he said, pointing with his arms at an expansive age.
“Because I’m not, you know…your age isn’t what will bring me into your arms,” he said.
‘It’s not your age that worries me. Unless you’re under 18, in which case I can’t, I can’t at all, but, you know.
“A big gap could be problematic,” Joy mused.
“Because when you’re 20 and 40 it’s good and even 40 and 60, but now 60 and 80 is a little…” Joy explained, before Whoopi interrupted.
“Actually, I just have to tell you this, in one of the last relationships I had, he was 40 years older than me,” she revealed.
40? Is he still alive?’ Joy exclaimed, as Whoopi nodded.

‘Actually, I just have to tell you this, in one of the last relationships I had, he was 40 years older than me,’ Whoopi revealed.

Whoopi did not divulge any information about her older boyfriend or when the relationship took place.
However, the TV show host was married and divorced three times in the past.
She first married Alvin Martin, four years her junior, in 1973 and 1979, with whom she shares her only daughter named Alexandrea.
She then married cinematographer David Claessen, three years her junior, in September 1986 and they divorced in 1988. Her last marriage was to union organizer Lyle Trachtenberg, which ended in 1995.
She dated James Bond star Timothy Dalton, nine years her senior, from November 1990 to April 1993, and had a high-profile romance with Cheers actor Ted Danson in 1993, between her second and third marriage.
The Ghost actor was in a long-term relationship for several years with actor Frank Langella, 17 years her senior, and their relationship ended in 2001.
She later dated her businessman boyfriend Michael Visbal, but they broke up in 2004, and Whoopi stated that she did not want to remarry.
