Denver Nuggets superstar Jamal Murray has signed a massive four-year, $208 million contract extension, according to reports.
The mammoth deal, first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, guarantees Murray $244 million over the next five seasons.
He won the NBA title with the Nuggets in 2023 and most recently represented Team USA when it won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old will now be excluded from free agency as his previous contract is set to expire next summer.
After recovering from a torn ACL that caused him to miss the entire 2021-22 season, he has formed a formidable partnership with three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
Murray shot just 3 of 18 in the game and left the stadium without speaking to the media afterward.
That dream team helped them win the NBA Championship the year after his return from injury, and the Nuggets beat the Miami Heat 4-1 in June 2023.
Murray is one of eight players in NBA history to have multiple 50-point games, and is the Nuggets’ all-time leader in 3-pointers made.
Last season, he was one of three players who averaged 20 points, six assists and 40% three-point shooting.
The Nuggets selected him with the No. 7 pick in the 2016 draft and he has not played anywhere other than Denver in his seven-season NBA career.
